Course
Background
The Ferrero Group is one of the most successful business collectives globally. With brands like Kinder, Nutella, Tic Tac and Ferrero Rocher underneath their belts, they possess an extensive grasp of the chocolate market.
Challenges
The Ferrero Group have looked to ensure a minimum level of competency amongst their safety practitioners across their global operations. We remain prideful of our initial plans to successfully implement an efficient, prospering health and safety system underneath their global umbrella.
We took time to understand the skills and knowledge requirements for the target audience and recommended the NEBOSH International Certificate. The course is designed to give staff in managerial positions a widespread, comprehensive understanding of vital health and safety principles.
Due to the global structure of their business, we recommended that the e-learning training format be organised for safety personnel across 17 countries. Since then, Ferrero has seen a considerable rise in the health and safety standards in their widespread global presence.
Results
Ferrero commented on the flexible nature of Astutis online courses as exemplary and as a critical driver for initially enquiring to Astutis.
The training has gone down very well with the Ferrero Group workforce, with positive feedback and a pass rate of over 80% on formal NEBOSH Assessments. With successful training changing the health and safety fabric of their global operations, the Ferrero Group have seen a decrease in incidents but an increase in successful investigations of incidents.
We are proud to have turned supervisory staff into proactive health and safety managers who can reduce risk and save lives.

"The tutor was excellent, and the course was designed so that the information was easy to digest and understand through real-life scenarios. The problem-based learning approach and active participation in classroom discussions and homework exercises helped me pass the exam on my first attempt."

"The two weeks of comprehensive in-class training, coupled with the gaps between the exams, provided ample time for preparation and reflection on what I learned in the classroom. NG2 was very interesting, and the classroom exercises helped me grasp the theme of assessment, specifically how (RMs) were assessed."

"The online learning portal was easy and straight forward to use, it was well laid out and had fantastic online resource sections which were great for printing out to have to hand - especially handy for highlighting important points. I had purchased the NEBOSH Managing Health and Safety book to help with my study, but in all honesty, the information in the portal covered all the relevant material anyway. I only needed to phone for assistance on a couple of occasions, but found the guidance helpful and quick."

"Having a secondary role at work as a Health and Safety coordinator means passing the NEBOSH General Certificate is a great indication of the knowledge and understanding I have achieved so far. This is a staple qualification in this field and I now have the confidence to venture into Health and Safety in a more primary role and as a progression of career."
