Legal - The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 is the main law that governs health and safety in the UK. This legislation places duties on employers to ensure the health and safety of their workforce.
Moral - Employers have a moral duty to keep their employees safe at work. Outside of each individual person, it is important to remember that every worker has a family and loved ones who hope they return home safely every day.
Financial - According to the HSE an estimated 35.2 million working days were lost in 2022/2023 due to self-reported work-related injury or ill health. This results in decreased productivity for businesses and delays which damages their reputation in the marketplace and overall sales.
