The Safety for Managers course is ideal for those who work in a line management or supervisory role. The course enables managers to understand their health and safety responsibilities - ensuring a safe work environment for their teams.
Workplace absences cost the UK economy over £18 billion every year. Good health and safety practices protect employees from injury and ill health, which helps maintain productivity and reduce costs. The Safety for Managers course equips managers with the skills and knowledge to integrate positive safety cultures into their organisation.
There are many reasons why health and safety should be managed in the workplace. They cover three key areas.

Legal - The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 is the main law that governs health and safety in the UK. This legislation places duties on employers to ensure the health and safety of their workforce.
Moral - Employers have a moral duty to keep their employees safe at work. Outside of each individual person, it is important to remember that every worker has a family and loved ones who hope they return home safely every day.
Financial - According to the HSE an estimated 35.2 million working days were lost in 2022/2023 due to self-reported work-related injury or ill health. This results in decreased productivity for businesses and delays which damages their reputation in the marketplace and overall sales.
