Managing Contractors teaches learners the techniques and methods of assessing, selecting, planning, monitoring and reviewing competent contractors.
The IIRSM Approved course meets the requirements for managing contractors in accordance with HSG 159 and INDG 368.
This course is suitable for those with the responsibility of procuring, appointing or managing contractors.

The legal obligations in managing contractors. How to be clear about the work you expect the contractor to do and think about the standards of competence that will be required.

Improving health and safety performance
The use of a model to support strategic planning and performance measurement.

Clients and contractors
Be able to assess and select competent contractors.

Common contractor hazards
Exploring the health and safety risks and hazards faced when managing contractors.
Unit 5
Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM)
Understand the main requirements of the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) 2015.
Virtual Classroom or Classroom Delivery:
Once you complete the course, or complete a module, your tutor will issue you with the assessment. If you are sitting the course virtually, you will be emailed a copy of the multiple-choice assessment to complete and we ask that you email the assessment back to Astutis once complete.
Online Delivery:
You will be presented with a multiple-choice assessment once you have completed all the modules on the course. The assessment is automatically marked and when a passed a certificate is available for download.
Marking of the assessment and posting of the certificate can take between 2-4 weeks. A digital copy of the certificate is also available if required.
