The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management is assessed by an online 90 minute multiple choice test, which consists of 40 questions. Exams are available on a monthly basis.
You will receive your results within 15 working days from completion, and provided you are successful, your certificate usually arrives within 20 working days of receiving your result.
You will need to achieve a pass in PSM1 (60% or more) to achieve this qualification.

The course is ideal for those working in process industries such as oil, gas refining, chemicals, plastics and pharmaceuticals manufacturing. The course is suitable for Managers, Supervisors, Health and Safety Advisors and Process Safety Engineers working within a process industry.
Process safety management is a mixture of engineering and management skills centred around preventing catastrophic accidents and near misses in process industries. Possible hazards it looks to prevent include structural collapse, explosions, fires and the release of toxic or dangerous substances such as chemical or petroleum products.
Process safety management is important for a number of reasons. It goes without saying that the consequences of neglecting health and safety when handling dangerous substances can have extremely destructive consequences.
Look no further than the 2020 Beirut explosion, which causes 218 people to lose their lives, a further 7,000 injuries and $15 billion worth of property damage. In this case, ammonium nitrate had been confiscated from a cargo ship in 2013 and was stored in a poorly maintained facility, with little oversight or proper safety measures in place.

Learners have access to the online version of the course for 6 months. In line with our learning plan, we suggest the course takes 53 hours of study time to complete, including exams. Learners should note that extensions of access to the online courses come with a fee.
There is only one assessment for the course: a 90-minute online multiple-choice exam. You will receive your results within 15 working days of sitting the examination. If you have been successful, your certificate will arrive in the post within 6-8 weeks of receiving your result.
