Element 2
Responding to Net Zero Showcasing the risks and opportunities of net zero including future business viability, reputation and supply chain vulnerabilities. The element also looks at internal capacity for delivering net zero.
Element 3
Greenhouse gas accounting The element explains how to establish a greenhouse gas inventory as well as the main principles of greenhouse gas accounting (including using activity data and emission factors.

Carbon Neutrality The element explains what carbon neutral means and its application for organisations, products and services
Element 5
Net Zero Methodologies The element explains how to establish science-based targets and how to establish a net zero strategy

Developing a decarbonisation plan Implement a decarbonisation plan with suitable targets and milestones to deliver net zero objective

Net zero across the value chain The element explains how to reduce greenhouse emissions where these are influenced but not directly controlled

The IEMA Pathways to Net Zero is assessed with a 20 question, open-book online multiple-choice assessment. You will need to answer 14 questions correctly to pass. You will receive an IEMA-approved certificate upon successful completion of the course, this can take 6-10 weeks to arrive.
